Dear Freddie

I am so glad that you are home, I am sure that you are too. So much more to explore and so much more to see. Imagine you have your own room and dream of milk heaven.
Oh by the way you are really cute.

To the proudest parents
Ive been reading your blog and can't imagine how difficult a journey this has been for you all.
My partner works for national blood and I've always been scared of needles. Reading your blog and known that I could make a difference has convinced me to give blood.

Hey, Freddie,

I know you have had a very shaky start in life, but you are one very, very, lucky little boy. I met your mum when she was 16, and I have to tell you that she is one of the most beautiful people on this earth, inside and out. I've not met your dad yet, but I can tell from reading his blogs that is an amazing man. And the love they have for you is clearly endless.
So I have no doubt that they will be there for you on life's journey and you are going to have a wonderful life...
It is going to be a very memorable day when you arrive home for the first time, and I'm praying that it's going to be very soon. \And we will all be checking regularly for updates on your progress and loads of photos!
Lots of love to you, and your fab mum and dad, you very special little star xx

I am sure you had a great cuddle with your gran Freddie, she will be a very special person in your life so make sure you do your best for her and carry on getting big and strong. I love the bunting she brought for you, a delightful gift.

I cannot believe that you are now just over 3lbs, almost heavy for your mum and dad to have a cuddle. You sound to be quite a strong minded little man letting your mum and dad know when you need/prefer to be left alone, such power you hold (watch out Jenni and Ross, Freddie will be a 2 year old with a strong mind before you know it)!

I hope you are managing to sleep lots and conserve your energy for making sure you put on weight. Your dad is a big strong guy and you need to be able to play fight with him in the future and of course your many uncles!.

Carry on being a good boy for your mum and dad. Each day I read your blog I realise how proud they must be of you on your journey to go home.
Lots of love
Jackie xx

It would just like to say, never give up hope. My little boy was born at 24 weeks on 28th November 2010, weighed 1lb 10oz and after 15 weeks in hospital, was home with us. I understand completely the pain and heartache that comes with a NICU unit but also the highs. Kieron is 7 months old now and apart from being tiny compared to other 7 month olds and having chronic lung disease, he's doing very very well. Be strong and never give up ! Please email me, even if it's to vent frustration or to get things off your chest. Your doing amazing, keep up the good work Freddie, your gonna make your mummy and daddy so proud xxxxxxx

Dear Freddie,

From the moment your Mummy and Daddy told me they were expecting a baby, I was very excited. You would be my 4th grandchild and I looked forward to the day we expected you to be born in August, which meant that you would share a birthday with me and your cousin Ellie.
To our surprise, it was decided you should come into the world much earlier and so your birth made us all very worried indeed. But here you are and despite a few worrying episodes you are doing very well. Each day you become stronger and you show us all just what a determined little fellow you are. It must be that Scottish blood in you, that you get from your Dad that makes you a 'wee fighter'.
You already display signs of stubbornness and will power in the way you grip our fingers and how you poke your arms out of your blanket when your Mummy tries to keep you snuggled up!
I am so happy to see you grow stronger each day and I have to tell you that you must be the most prayed for little boy ever. *
*Phillipians Ch4v6 - "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
All my friends in the Manchester area pray for you everyday and each day our prayers are answered when we hear how you are making great progress.
Continue to jump over each hurdle Freddie until you see the finish line and then Mummy and Daddy can bring you home. I look forward to all the wonderful times we can have together as you grow up and make your mark on the world.
With love,
Grandma.

p.s. your Grandad would have been so proud of you and would laugh because you have inherited the 'McGill Big-Toe!'

Just to say Caolan was 32 weeks +6 when he arrived and was 4lbs 4. I have just told him about you, he's home from the pool and totally hyper, but he wanted me to tell you all this so you know he wasn't much bigger than you when he was born but he's the 4th tallest in his class now- these things are important when you're 10- and that you'll be just fine. He's a bit jealous that he didn't have a message page like you though. X
